Introducing Bryn Mawr Chiropractor
Dr. Jon Crooker

I thought the pain that I had was “normal.” Surely everyone gets headaches, most people get lower back pain, and the majority of athletes have at least one injury they can never seem to shake.
When I was in undergraduate school at Ursinus College, I suffered from several ailments that interfered with studying and playing lacrosse. I suffered with headaches several times a week, low back pain with any physical exertion, and an old wrist injury from high school that never completely healed. I was referred to a chiropractor by a friend who was tired of hearing me complain. Results were soon to follow. Pain I was having for years was gone with just a few weeks of care. As an added bonus, I found that when I was getting adjusted, I was sleeping better, I had more energy, and I had improved digestion. I just had to learn more about how this happened. This research soon led me to apply to chiropractic school.
After graduating from Ursinus with a chemistry degree, I enrolled at New York Chiropractic College. Four years later, I entered private practice in New York City. Before coming to Bryn Mawr, I was the lead doctor in a multidisciplinary clinic on Wall Street. I worked closely with acupuncturists, massage therapists, physical therapists, and medical doctors.

At Bryn Mawr Wellness, we take a wellness approach to healthcare. That means we address the cause or the reason you lost good health. We incorporate rehabilitative exercises in the office as well as home care exercises to both speed up the healing process and for a more lasting correction. This way, together, we achieve a long term solution rather than a temporary patch for your health. We rely on the patient to be an active participant in their care. In addition to our work in the office, we have given many workshops and have talked to thousands of people on the importance of spinal health, proper diet, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle.
I am originally from Dover, Delaware where my family still resides. I fell in love with this area during my time at Ursinus, and always had the goal of having a practice here. Having access to the city gives me a chance to see the occasional concert or ball game, while at the same time having proximity to the country for hiking and kayaking. I work out on a regular basis. I lift weights as well as run 10-15 miles a week. I get adjusted weekly by a colleague to ensure that my spine and nervous system are functioning optimally.
